Olsson Associates, a full-service engineering design firm, is expanding its power delivery services. The expansion is part of Olsson’s commitment to providing services in utility and industrial electrical systems.
To further the firm’s expertise, Olsson has hired Paul Williams, PE, to lead the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) program. He brings extensive project management and design experience to the firm, and has worked on numerous T&D projects from Alaska to Florida.
“With the hiring of Paul, Olsson can help electric utilities nationwide with their high-voltage T&D project needs,” said Brad Strittmatter, Olsson’s president. “This initiative will allow Olsson to expand on the electric design work that we have been providing to clients since the inception of the company in 1956.”
Additionally, Olsson has hired Travis Carnes, PE, who has experience in T&D client management, design, project management and quality control on a wide range of transmission line engineering projects.
“When you consider the amount of T&D line work needed across the nation, such as replacing aging assets and constructing new installations because of the expanding renewable energy market, Olsson will fill a market need,” said John O’Connor, business development leader.
Olsson Associates, an employee-owned engineering and design firm, provides services in disciplines including mechanical/electrical, power, transportation, water resources, environmental, water/wastewater and land development. Established in 1956, Olsson has 950 employees in nearly 30 offices across the Midwest and Southwest U.S.
