Olsson Associates civil engineer, Jack Schaller, receives honor from Missouri National Guard

Monday, November 13, 2017

The Missouri National Guard has awarded Jack Schaller with the Conspicuous Service Medal. The medal is a token of gratitude for Schaller’s exemplary service during his time as the City of Joplin’s assistant public works director in support of State Emergency Duty for Operation Southwest Twister 2011. He oversaw the city’s debris cleanup following the May 22, 2011, tornado that devastated a large portion of Joplin.

Schaller worked with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency, state and federal agencies and local municipalities in the aftermath of the storm. His ability to lead, adapt to changing situations and overcome adversity will forever be appreciated by the citizens of Joplin.

Schaller is a civil engineer in Olsson’s Joplin office. The firm congratulates him for his outstanding professional engineering support of these agencies and his community.
