Olsson Associates announces new Oklahoma regional leader

Jimmy SparksEngineering and design firm Olsson Associates has promoted Jimmy Sparks to Oklahoma regional leader. Sparks, a professional engineer, joined Olsson in 2013 and has been serving the firm as a client relationship manager for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA). In this role, he will oversee the growth strategy, staff management and financial performance for the firm’s Oklahoma offices.

Sparks has a B.S. and M.S. in civil engineering from Oklahoma State and nearly 20 years of experience in various areas of engineering for transportation projects. He served as a part of the general consulting team at the OTA for 18 years, which included various aspects of construction management, inspections and capital improvement plans.

“We’re happy to have Jimmy step into this regional leader position,” said Jeff Ford, executive vice president of technical operations. “He really understands the region, its employees and its clients.”

Olsson’s Oklahoma offices are in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Sparks says he looks forward to helping the firm grow.

“We have a lot of opportunities in Oklahoma and I’m excited to help continue the work Olsson has done since opening the Oklahoma City office four years ago,” Sparks said. “We have a fantastic group of people here.”
