Olsson Associates was selected to provide surveying services for over 100 National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) stations that required renovations to ensure Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance within the following year. The stations were located throughout the United States.
In preparation for the ADA program, Amtrak required topographical, boundary, and title surveys at stations requiring renovation work. Survey efforts included field survey work at and around the station site, office support work, and offsite research necessary to depict site conditions. Survey services were also needed to determine property lines and property ownership, and to provide drawings, descriptions, and certifications, as required. Amtrak used the survey information to complete the designs that served as the basis for station construction.
Looking toward the future, Olsson aims to solidify its relationship with Amtrak to provide additional engineering and environmental services.
