The City of Joplin, Missouri, recently selected the Olsson-led team to perform the majority of the city’s Community Development Block Grant-funded work to rebuild the infrastructure that was damaged by the devastating May 2011 tornado. The total fees in this effort have the potential to reach $5 million, and this project will require services for an extended time period.
Dubbed the “Joint Engineering Team” (JET), the JET comprises Tri-State Engineering, TranSystems, and CJW Transportation Consultants. Olsson is the prime consultant leading the JET.
The JET’s first initiative will be to perform engineering services in the areas of stormwater, sidewalks, curb and gutter, and utility relocations. Olsson anticipates that extended services will include engineering for other surface elements such as streets and trails, construction management, and special inspections.
