Olsson promotes two to lead national practice groups

Olsson Associates has promoted two individuals to serve as national practice group leaders for the firm. Tony Stanton is Olsson’s water resources practice group leader; Steve Van Voltenberg is the new survey practice group leader. In these roles, Tony and Steve will manage key client relationships, actively pursue business development opportunities, and focus on specific strategic priorities for their respective practice groups across Olsson’s geographic regions.

Tony Stanton, Water Resources practice group leader

Tony Stanton, PEAfter serving as the interim practice group leader for the past year, Tony was named to officially lead the Water Resources practice, beginning November 1. Tony joined Olsson in January 2004. He became the Kansas City water resources group leader in mid-2004 and team leader in early 2008.

While serving the practice in an interim capacity, Tony has continued to serve as the team leader for the Kansas City Water Resources team. With his new appointment, these team leader duties will transition to a new person, allowing Tony to better serve and focus on the entire practice.   

“We’re excited for Tony to fully take on this role,” said John Olsson, senior vice president of Public Infrastructure and Community Engagement. “He is really good at pulling in the right pieces and identifying the best team for our clients.”

Steve Van Voltenberg, Survey practice group leader

Steve VanVoltenberg, RLSSteve was named to lead the Survey practice on November 7. Steve joined Olsson in June 2010, and he became the team leader for the Omaha Survey team in February 2012. Steve will continue to have an active role in leading the Omaha Survey team.

“Under his leadership, Steve has run a high-performing team,” said Ryan Beckman, senior vice president of Sales and New Business, who has overseen the firm’s survey operations for several years. “With this new role, he will be working with team leaders across the firm to maintain the success of our Survey practice.”
